How Much Budget Should I Set for Customs Clearance?
We give a final fee on the final invoice on our website, meaning that no extra is paid for custom clearance. However we charge for last mile delivery (Doorstep) and if you choose to pickup at our partners offices, demurrage can be incurred if not picked within 48hrs.

What Foodstuff and Perishable Items Are Prohibited?
Foodstuffs and perishable items prohibited on Respectmart include beef, fresh fish, cow skin (ponmo), and pre-cooked meals. These prohibitions are because of strict customs and import laws.
What Food Items Am I Allowed to Send through Shipping?
Our shipping services cover the following foodstuff: beans, grains, dry pepper, spices, crayfish (blended & dried forms), egusi (grounded form), prawns, oils (palm, castor, coconut, vegetable, and other oils), ogbono.
If you’re shipping goat meat, kindly bear in mind that you can only ship 2 kilogram per waybill (maximum), and the item can only be shipped with our Regular service.
If you’re shipping dried fish, kindly bear in mind that you can only 10 kilogram per waybill (maximum).
If you’re shipping snails, kindly bear in mind that you’ll need a snail classification form, and you can only ship 2 kilogram per waybill (maximum). You can also use our Express or Regular service to ship snails.

What Is the Estimated Delivery Time?
Delivery takes an estimated period of 5–10 working days. We ship out packages on Fridays, with the delivery timeline scheduled to begin the Friday after we have delivered your package to our partner hubs in the UK, US, Canada, or other locations.

Why is My Delivery Experiencing a Delay Longer than 5–10 Days?
Respectmart ships once a week on Fridays. Also, the delivery timeline is scheduled to begin the Friday after we have delivered. If you’re sending peculiar items such as pure gold, drones, or other precious metals overseas, you may need longer customs processing times.
Am I Required to Pay Any Other Fee?
No, there are no additional charges. We have included customs duties and doorstep to Lagos in our pricing. But if you don’t reside in Lagos, you’ll need to make an arrangement for your package to be picked up or pay an additional fee for the item to be delivered to your location.
Why Do You Ask for My ID and Proof of Purchase?
We request these documents in accordance with Respectmart fraud protection policy. It helps operate our service adhering to law enforcement requirements.
You only need to upload your proof of identification (an ID issues by the government) and proof purchase, which is evidence of payment such as a transaction receipt from your bank or a bank statement.
In case you used another person’s card to shop and ship items, you’ll need to supply us with their ID and proof of payment.

The Express option takes 3–7 working days depending on the recipient’s address/destination. The Affordable option takes 7–10 working days, Basic takes 10–15 working days, while Cargo takes 7–14 working days.

What’s the minimum weight?
The minimum weight depends on the specific Respectmart Shipping service you choose. Regular and cargo have a 10kg minimum weight, but Affordable and Cargo don’t have a minimum weight specification.
Does Respectmart provide doorstep delivery?
Yes, all our shipping options, with the exception of Cargo, offer doorstep delivery to the recipient’s address. In the case of Cargo, the recipient has to pick up the package from Respectmart’s cargo partners or pay an additional fee for the item to be delivered to their home.
